NEPF — Non-Contact Electric Field Measurement
Delineating orebodies and tectonic disruptions without drilling or grounded electrodes
Recording variations in Earth's natural electromagnetic field pinpoints the spatial location of orebodies and concealed structures without preliminary drilling.
What Subsoil User Challenges Are Solved at the NEPF Stage?
01
Conventional methods fail under complex terrain and environmental conditions
Conducts surveys without installing grounded equipment — highly effective across wetlands, snow cover, sands, and environmentally sensitive areas.
02
Excessive costs and drawn-out field campaigns
Deploys non-contact technology that eliminates electrode placement, covering expansive survey areas faster and at significantly reduced costs.
03
Risk of missing critical subsurface targets
Detects blind faults, mineralized domains, and orebodies through high-precision recording of natural electromagnetic anomalies.
04
Inadequate subsurface structural resolution
Captures natural electrophysical rock properties in situ, improving data interpretation confidence and reducing risk in downstream exploration stages.
How Does the NEPF Process Work?
We deploy non-contact electrical profiling technology based on recording Earth's natural electromagnetic field variations to study subsurface geological structures.
The execution workflow consists of four structured phases:
- Equipment Calibration — specialized instruments are calibrated to the operational frequency (~16.6 kHz) to register response signals from subsurface geological targets across variable depth horizons;
- Station Setup — receivers are positioned on the ground surface — completely eliminating soil contact or grounded electrodes — to record electric field variations;
- Signal Recording — surface receiving units capture reflected and refracted electromagnetic pulses originating from lithological boundaries, fault networks, mineralized domains, and orebodies;
- Data Processing & Interpretation — raw field data is processed in specialized software to isolate anomalous zones along geo-electrical sections, pinpointing prospective mineralization controls.
The Result: The client receives geo-electrical cross-sections and anomaly maps complete with structural interpretations and target localizations, providing a solid foundation for planning downstream exploration phases.
Pinpointing Mineralized Domains — With Maximum Efficiency and Minimum Cost
NEPF identifies ore zones without drilling or soil contact — rapidly, accurately, and environmentally friendly.
